Excessive river sand mining has caused serious damage to riverbeds and surrounding ecosystems, leading to increasingly strict environmental regulations across many regions. Yongzhou, rich in mineral resources, has witnessed rapid development in manufactured sand production in recent years.
As the industry transitions toward greener and more standardized operations, there is a growing need to establish a regulated, high-quality sand and aggregate market system to ensure sustainable and environmentally responsible development.
Project Implementation and Results
A Yongzhou-based enterprise with an annual production capacity of 1 million tons of sand and aggregates expanded its operations and required an efficient solution to treat the large volume of wastewater generated from daily sand washing. The company purchased multiple 500㎡ Meibang plate and frame filter presses to handle the increasing sludge output.
After technical evaluation by Meibang’s engineering experts, the slurry was confirmed to meet the requirements for dewatering without the addition of chemical agents. Following installation and commissioning, the plate and frame filter presses operated smoothly, producing thick and dry filter cakes without chemical dosing. The discharged clear water is recycled for reuse, significantly reducing water consumption and saving substantial annual operating costs for the client.
Customer Comparison and Feedback
Previously, the client used a different type of filter press, which required significant annual chemical dosing costs. The discharged water was highly turbid and could not be recycled, resulting in a messy working environment and inefficient water usage. In addition, the filter cake produced had a high moisture content — water could be squeezed out by hand — making it difficult to meet the client’s production requirements.
After comparison, the customer expressed a high level of satisfaction with Meibang’s plate and frame filter presses. They noted that switching to Meibang significantly improved dewatering performance, reduced operating costs, and enhanced overall site management. The client even remarked that they regretted not adopting Meibang equipment earlier.
