River & Lake Dredging Solutions
Hainan River Dredged Sludge Treatment Solution
In the Hainan river dredged sludge treatment project, an integrated solid-liquid separation solution was implemented to support environmental remediation and river ecosystem restoration. Dredging generates large volumes of sludge with high moisture content that must be efficiently dewatered for safe transport, disposal, and potential resource reuse.
Project Challenges
Dredged river sludge is characterized by:
- High water content and poor natural consolidation
- Large handling volumes requiring efficient processing
- Potential environmental impact if discharged untreated
These issues make dependable dewatering and separation technology essential for achieving project goals.

Our Solution Overview
Our solution is centered on tailored process design, advanced equipment integration, and effective water management to meet the project’s technical and environmental requirements:
1. Slurry Collection and Conveyance
Dredged sediment is pumped from the riverbed to the on-shore reception area via sealed pipelines, forming a slurry with controlled solids concentration for subsequent treatment.
2. Pre-Treatment and Conditioning
The slurry undergoes screening and coarse separation to remove debris and large aggregates. Conditioning agents (e.g., flocculants) are added to enhance particle agglomeration, improving the efficiency of solid-liquid separation.
3. Dewatering and Solid-Liquid Separation
High-efficiency dewatering equipment, such as filter presses or geotextile dewatering bags, is deployed to separate water from solids. By applying mechanical pressure or gravity drainage, the moisture content of the sludge is significantly reduced, generating stable, low-moisture solids suitable for transport and disposal.
Dewatering technology such as geotextile tubes or advanced mechanical presses enables high capture of solids and effective filtrate discharge.
4. Filtrate Collection and Water Management
Separated water is collected and clarified. Depending on client requirements and discharge standards, water can be reused on-site, sent for further treatment, or returned to the environment in compliance with regulations.

Key Benefits
- High Dewatering Efficiency: Reduces sludge moisture for easier handling and transport.
- Environmental Compliance: Treated water and solids meet regulatory discharge and disposal standards.
- Integrated Workflow: Seamless connection from dredging to dewatering and water management.
- Cost Reduction: Lower volume of transported material and reduced disposal costs.
- Scalable and Adaptable: Designed to accommodate variations in sludge characteristics and project scale.
